About
‘Bien venue’ to Les Cerisiers, a family run creative arts centre nestling in the Charollais hills of Southern Burgundy.
We are delighted to welcome artist and tutor Nicola Slattery who will be with us in October 2010 to guide you through an exciting week of artistic discovery. The traditional stone farmhouse and barn provide an idyllic location for creative pursuits, looking out across meadows of grazing cattle and the wooded slopes of Mont St Cyr. There is a real sense of space and tranquillity yet we are only a short distance from castles, vineyards and the historic town of Cluny.
Whether complete beginner or established old hand you will be encouraged and inspired, through excellent tuition, to allow your imagination full freedom of expression through painting with acrylics and more.
Learn about the versatility of acrylics and how to paint with them, whilst you explore the use of imagination as a driving force behind your painting.
Nicola Slattery has over 20 years experience of teaching art to a wide range of people and has a reputation for delivering calm, effective tuition at all levels of ability. She has regularly written articles for national art magazines on the techniques she teaches, including Painting with Acrylics and Art from the Imagination.
Full board accommodation is provided with a choice of room options. The farmhouse has many original features including exposed beams, the original bread oven and huge stone fireplace. Buffet lunches and evening meals are taken around the table in the kitchen. Food is home grown, home made or locally sourced and we offer a local wine tasting on your first evening.
As our house guests we would like you to get the most from your stay. The atmosphere is friendly and informal and the number of painters is kept to 10 to ensure you receive the individual attention you desire.
As places are restricted to 10 painters, early booking is advised to avoid disappointment.
