    i like the limited palette used,i also like the shadows and overall feeling
    of this , i would have made the foreground trees a little taller and darker.
    a exellent first attempt!

    Thanks Eileen, was never happy wtih my trees or river though! :( just uploaded a cropped pic with the trees taken out to see if it improves....
