J Youngerman
By AdrianYoungerman is obsessed with the idea of the written word as art.
Using bold colours and simple imagery, aparently innoucuous statements placed with others create striking statements and fascinating artwork.
Drawing from a palette of art styles; Pollock, Warhol, Banksy and Blake, influenced by everything from comic books to advertising slogans, classic functional design to wonderfully artistic follies, Youngerman’s work encompasses memorable bold word art and cartoon style paintings as well as the modern super pop art portraits on canvas, ‘Super Pop’ - updated pop art with delightfully suggestive text normally not associated with the genre.
His first London exhibition in 2009 was alongside Sir Peter Blake, Tracey Emin, David Nash and others. In December 2010 Youngerman's work was part of a two-artist show in Nottingham.
