Looking for an Easel

By roma
So that's what you call the stand you use in painting. "Easel" is a word I am not familiar with because I have not explored that side of the arts. But, yes, I consider my self an artist in my own right. Maybe to other people, I am just an art enthusiast. I am into graphic arts and drawing. If you have seen a person who would draw anything on any paper, including the back of receipts, using anything that writes, that person would be exactly like me. I am also into photography and writing. I write poetry, provocative custom essays, and short creative stories.

Until recently, I was wondering if there was a name for that stand as I had made up my mind to introduce painting materials to my mother. It will be my Christmas gift to her. I figured that she's getting old and she needs to have a hobby that will agree with her age. She used to write once in a while, though, but I think painting is more addicting. It's not that I think painting is for old people, I just think that she's creative enough to start painting and old enough to quit doing something like cooking for the family.

So I stumbled upon this website. Aside from wanting my mom to start painting, I suddenly want to start myself. I hope I will learn a lot from this website and find all the things I need through member recommendations.

Art Auctions onEbay

By Adrian
Art Auctions on eBay

A few days ago, I was looking at art auctions on eBay  I have found some wonderful things.  I browsed the Art category and chose the subcategory of self-representing artists.

Art auctions on eBay are a great way for an unknown or even a known artist to sell their paintings.  I found some nice paintings in the featured section.

Since I was looking at art auctions on eBay, I used the option to just view the picture gallery.  I’m glad I did that because I really just wanted to see the art, not the title of the auction.  What immediately caught my eye was all of the bold colors.

On the first page of image results of art auctions on eBay, there was a beautiful painting of a martini.  I think that martini images seem very classy to me.  I can visualize this painting in the home of someone with a glass coffee table and a leather couch!

The virtual foot traffic that art auctions on eBay gets is incredible.  The artist can get so much more exposure to so many more people than hanging their paintings in galleries.  It is just such a good way to get discovered.

By Adrian
As a 15-year-old living in a post-war council house in Coventry, George Shaw was hungry to make an impression on the art world – at the age of 45 his dream has come true. He is one of four UK artists nominated for the 2011 Turner Prize. The nomination coincides with the opening of George’s homecoming exhibition, I woz ere, at The Herbert Gallery in Coventry – a collection of his nostalgic Tile Hill paintings, new watercolours, and early works of art.
