Acerca de

I have a passing interest in painting and created rankmyart.com some years ago. Didn't really do too much with it but seemed to find people using it. Now after finding myself with a lot more time on my hands again and with Jean's help decided to try and develop it a bit more, which has resulted in easelspace.com.
Hopefully you will find the site interesting enough to take a look around, say hello or even join and post a few pictures.
The site is free and will continue to be.
Some adverts will be run to help with running costs but we will try and keep them away from the main body of the site.

Started 25 years ago with a £1,000 loan, the foundry, now the biggest in Britain, employs 186 people and is the central turbine of a new industry in the town – art. Once famous for manufacturing scarlet jackets for soldiers in the Civil War and, more recently, tennis balls, Stroud now harbours around 180 artists’ studios, including two of Damien Hirst’s “factories”. Not for the Kingdon Koenigs, however, the houses in Long Island or the boats and smart London pads that their artists enjoy. They live in a barn in the slightly dull village of Stonehouse. “But we have fun,” they say. “We get invited to all the big parties.” Happiness, for them, however, is a day spent in 2,000 degrees, blasting metal. “We work at the foundry every day, but it’s not the kind of job you can safely do with a hangover.” Damien-Hirsts-dream-factory-of-british-art

    It beggars belief!!

If we want a pot pant in the office, the staff bring them in.

Head of axed Audit Commission defends spending

He also defended the spending of £40,000 on pot plants, saying the commission had 37 offices around the country and the bill amounted to about £20 a week for each - "not a large amount of money" to create a more pleasant working environment.

Touching story indeed... I rarely go to exhibitions but I think i would go to that one... for me a proof again that a good personal story well built around whatever we do (business, art, music,...) is one of the most important keys of success

In the long, cold winter of 1963, 17 year old Mary Husted gave birth to her son, Luke. She kept her baby for just ten days, before giving him up for adoption. During that time she drew sketches of him in pencil. Twenty years later Mary studied art ...
