About
1.If you have work that would like to have feeback on this is the place.
2.Join the group and upload your pictures for members of the group to feeback on your work.
The idea of this group is to aid, assist or help each other. Often we develop a scotoma around a painting that we have created. What this means is that you look at it for so long that eventually your eye accepts the quirky uneasy feeling that you first get when "there is just something not right!" Scotoma means 'blind spot'
As a rule I turn my work to the wall or sleep on it for a night and am able to see with a clear head, where the problem is when I look at it again. Sometimes I just can't see it at all and the canvas gets stuck behind another so that I need not think about it again.
Not many artists are blessed with a friend who can look at a painting and tell you where the problem is. It is as simple as that.
This is where you get to go back to your easel and make the changes that have been suggested ONLY IF THE COMMENTS RESONATE WITH YOU.
It is important that as a member of this group that you are prepared to add at least one of your works before you comment on another. We all have those UFO's (unfinished objects) hanging around our studios that we will get to one day...because there was just something not right.
Please note;- This is not a place where you get to destroy someones soul. All comments must be constructive. "this is really nice!" is not a useful comment at all. " I really like your composition, however, I would consider introducing a complimentary hue to the shadow" is a constructive comment.
I would like to suggest that if you do use the suggestions in this group, that you re-post your completed work when you are satisfied with it.
Please play nice! We all need this as artists so lets use it constructively.
By the way please remember that we are not born knowing everything and we learn as we grow. Every single person knows something that you don't - let us learn from each other.
Peace 'n paint

by Jax 1 year agoWelcome to all the new members of this group. I hope that we get to see lots of beautiful work and that you will share some of your knowledge with all of us. Knowledge is free and sharing this knowledge is as beneficial to you as an Artist as it is to those who receive it. I challenge you to post a photo of what is on your easel right now and share something with all of us.
Peace 'n paint

by Adrian 2 years agoPigeons have the potential to become discerning art critics, according to a new Japanese study.
Researchers at Tokyo's Keio University say they have found that pigeons have "advanced perceptive abilities" and can distinguish between 'good' and 'bad' paintings, recognising beauty the way humans do.
The findings of the government-funded study are due to be published in the journal Animal Cognition .
The team, who previously published research saying that pigeons can tell a Monet from a Picasso, were studying whether the animals may also be able to prefer one to the other.
