  I am giddy, humbled and blessed to say that I entered my first piece of abstract artwork in a juried show here in North Carolina about 4 weeks ago and was selected to be among the 50 chosen (of 162) and now am hanging in the gallery. Then, my wife, Shannon Simpson, another artist on here, urged me to enter two more of my pieces here in North Carolina into one of the most "elite" as they call it juried shows here .. "Bring Us Your Best VII, and I one of my abstracts in acrylic and additive compound was also selected and now hanging in another gallery. As mentioned, I'm so humbled but it has really given me the push to paint, paint, paint and not give up ... whether selected or not. Best wishes to you all.

  I am so taken by the diversity and range of your paintings! After starting to write I had to start over because I was so distracted by the abstract section. I've nearly always been a representational painter and admit to often feeling baffled by totally non-objective works. I find these works compelling.
