! am a Human Resource manager for a large Pharmaceutical company in Gauteng. My husband, myself and our three dogs live in Pretoria.
Three years ago I started painting under the watchful eye of Leonore Roux-Kruger, I soon realised that this is a hobby that gave me an immense satisfaction and fed my soul. It is such a privilege to paint and create something that other people appreciate and admire.
I am inspired by life itself. The representation of life inspires me, my paintings become a demonstration of life, a depository of diverse activities, and therefore remains forever unforseeable. I love the traces that people and nature brings towards life. Life itself has an ongoing trace element, and this is why I work in textures to give the effect of transience in my works. Oil is the medium I enjoy most, giving my expressions of the environment. This augurs new relationships with my audience and art. I have lately also started including pewter in my paintings. This is a medium that has given me great satisfaction, a work of art in its own right -sculpted and molded, ending up on a canvass as part of an oil painting.
I have participated in various art exhibitions, sold more than 44 paintings over a period of three years and had my first solo exhibition in Kimberley in 2008. My paintings are in private collections in South Africa and the Netherlands.
