originaly from Yorkshire England, where I went to the Jacob Kramer college fo art for 3 yrs back in the 70's. for clothing design, But my passion was always to paint pictures, well finaly, August of 2009 I started to paint & have been "trying to teach myself" learining from books one or two DVD's & help from my friends on the art boards.. I love to paint Seascapes the most :)

by Donna Cates 2 years agohi Angela, with acrylics, I am still learning. I am a fan of Jerry Yarnell, he works mostly with acrylics. He is on tv half hour shows, so I tape it on a vcr, so I can watch and practice. he has a web site also, he has dvd's and books you can order! I just got a medium for acrylics to extend drying time, but haven't tried it out yet! hopefully it works good! -

by Denise Coppola 2 years agoHi Angela,thankyou for the compliment,yes i have used the interactive acrylics and found them good to use especially on location as they dry quick but one can spray with a fine mist of water to rework some areas,my own preference is oils but do watercolour and acrylics,give them a try -

If you use a medium to retard the acrylic drying time
you can paint acrylics in exactly the same way as oils -
by Donna Cates 2 years agoHI Angela, the dvd's I have from Joyce Ortner, was the anatomy of the wave and also I have the 7 elements of seascape painting. there are 3 dvd's in that one. they are very good. Have a great evening!
