Hester grew up in the Eastern Cape of South Africa and art featured big in her world. Her mother was a watercolour artist. She grew up with paint, exhibitions and commisions.
She studied for a teaching diploma with art as a subject. Art classes with Annie Maddock and Helena du Preez enriched her. Hester uses acrylic paint on board or canvass.
Her firts solo was at the KKNK Art festival 2004 and she sold 40 paintings.From then on she painted full time and participated in numerous exhibitions. Clients in Belguim, UK, USA,Ireland loves her work.
A few magazines did photo aricles of her work.LEEF Dec 2007, PASSIE Winter 2007, KONTREI Feb 2009, ALIWAL WEEKBLAD Mei 2010.
To Hester the rural landscapes is an inspiration and her paintings have a feeling of space,light and peace.Light comes from witin her paintings and someone once said "she sells Light"
To her colour is the emotion of nature
Hester's motto is one of William Blake "I myself can do nothing, but the HOLY SPIRIT accomplishes all through me."

by Adrian 1 year agoHi Hester, along with easelspace, we have 3 additional galleries that we promote. travelscapers.com - (land, city, sea, ect scapes and travel) easelfaces.com - (Portraits, Figures) and a new still life gallery. You can see the links to them on the right hand side of this page. We have to make a small charge to help with hosting and promotion costs but we run competitions now and then, offering the prize of a free subscription to one of your choice. All Septembers entries are being offered a free subscription to a gallery of their choice. The galleries allow the use of html, so if you sell online you can easily link back to your chosen selling agent.
