About
In 1983, I established “Floral Décor” a silk floral design studio. That same year one of my pieces was displayed at the “Danforth Museum” and within six months I was asked to create an arrangement for the “Designers Showcase.” In 1986, one of my floral designs was displayed in the "Middlesex Business Magazine” and I was spotlighted in the March issue of “Woman’s Day Magazine” on woman in small business.
I believe floral design proved to be the catalyst in my career with Fine Art. I feel no boundaries when it comes to painting. Experimentation is my driving force. Not content to paint in one medium, I create in four. My Art is best expressed through Whimsical Collages and Monotypes and Impressionistic Acrylics and Watercolors.
When I set out to create a painting, it begins long before paint and brush touch canvas. Ideas come from many places and at all hours of the night. It is not unusual to start painting at 3.00 in the morning. The greatest satisfaction comes when one off my pieces reaches out to another in a positive way. Their reaction stimulates my creativity.
I feel there are many fine artists that have a passionate need to inform the public of the inhumanities of life. There is a place for this art. It awakens in us the desire to make changes in ourselves and our world. We have all been touched by crisis either personally, through a family member or a close friend. I choose to remind people of the inner joy and hope to achieve this through my love of color, choice of subject matter, and the light in my painting. I welcome all challenges in art, because this is when the creative energy surges and my journey as an artist begins.
As the recipient of numerous awards, I feel honored to sell my art nationally and internationally to private collectors and corporate establishments. I enjoy the excitement of creating custom made pieces and welcome new clients.
My art may be viewed at wetpaintgallery.com and on face book http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2005150&id=1440287101&l=a1db6e8c8b

by Jax 1 year agoLisa I am absolutely in love with your collages! So few artists do real collage now days. It is my passion and my "me time" art. I am a little dramatic (all the time!) so I tend to go LARGE! My latest one is 1.5m x 100cm and took me 150hours to complete. I was in my element doing it. Now that I have found a fellow collage enthusiast I will post a few when I have a chance, and share with you.
Please post a photograph. I would love to see who I am chatting with :o) Thank you for the friend add.
